2023 U-M football fan survey (Part 3): Michigan's best players, breakout freshmen and more

We’ve made it to the third and final installment of the 2023 Michigan football fan survey results breakdown.
Earlier this summer, I sent out my 2023 Michigan football fan survey to subscribers of this newsletter. I had to lock responses in less than a 36-hour period thanks to the quick and comprehensive response from y’all. There were more than 500 unique ballots with more than 15,000 total votes cast across a variety of different questions. While it’s not completely uniform, as some people opted out of answering a few questions they’re not familiar with or not interested in, it’s pretty even across the board and should provide a pretty good glimpse into how the Michigan fanbase feels heading into a 2023 season that could end up being very big for this program.
Over the past week, I’ve used this space to share and break down your responses, as well as share my own opinions and highlight when they’re in alignment with the fanbase, and when I’m on an island.
In Part 1, I focused on NIL, recruiting and the general level of contentment with the Michigan football program. If you missed it, you can read it here.
In Part 2, I focused on your expectations for the upcoming season, and identified potential trap games on the schedule. If you missed it, you can read it here.
For this third and final part, I’ll tackle the rest of the questions — including questions about which incoming freshmen you’re most excited about, which incoming transfers you’re most excited about, a look at which players you consider the most valuable on the roster, and then a bunch of questions surrounding 2023 superlatives on the Michigan roster (most sacks, most rushing/receiving yards, most interceptions, etc).
Let’s get to the questions.
