2023 U-M football fan survey (Part 2): Michigan's record this fall, trap games and more

Earlier this summer, I sent out my 2023 Michigan football fan survey to subscribers of this newsletter. I had to lock responses in less than a 36-hour period thanks to the quick and comprehensive response from y’all. There were more than 500 unique ballots with more than 15,000 total votes cast across a variety of different questions. While it’s not completely uniform, as some people opted out of answering a few questions they’re not familiar with or not interested in, it’s pretty even across the board and should provide a pretty good glimpse into how the Michigan fanbase feels heading into a 2023 season that could end up being very big for this program. Like last year, I’ll be sharing my own person thoughts and feelings about each question, too, and show the spots where I’m in lockstep with the fanbase as well as the spots where I’m not on the same page with everyone else.
Also like last year, I’ll be breaking up results of this survey into three different parts (last year’s results can be found here (part 1), here (part 2) and here (part 3).
Part one of this year’s survey results was published Monday night and can be found here. This newsletter is part two, and part three will center around Michigan personnel and will drop next Monday morning.
For now, though, let’s dig into part 2, which shares your thoughts on Michigan’s projected record heading into this fall, the game you’re most worried about as a trap game, offseason coaching additions/subtractions and more.
