Now that everyone in the Big Ten has been involved with some sort of game action — even if a lot of that action has come against cupcake competition — we can start basing Power Rankings off things that actually matters: wins and losses. I put together my best crack at preseason power rankings back in August to give everyone some sort of baseline based on some projections I made in my Big Ten offense and Big Ten defense previews. But now that games are actually happening, I’m excited to have some movement in these rankings based on things other than projections and guesswork.
Such was the case in this week’s power rankings, where there’s some movement within the top 3 of the rankings, as well as a few position swaps toward the middle and the end. Along with a write-up on each school, I’m also going to highlight something that surprised me in a good way about each school last weekend, and something that surprised me in a bad way.
Give it a read.
