Week 6 viewing guide
On Thursday, the 2024-2028 Big Ten schedules rolled out. And while it’s exciting to see new matchups in the mix, like contests against USC, Oregon, Washington and UCLA, you’re going to see fewer regional rivalries. Among those: the battle for The Little Brown Jug, which will only be contested twice in the next five seasons — a Michigan home game in 2024 and a trip to Minneapolis in 2026.
Given the fact that these two schools have already only played once in the five seasons leading up to Saturday’s primetime battle, it’s important not to take rare trophy matchups like this for granted.
Michigan’s battle against Minnesota is just one of a handful of enticing matchups in this week’s small but mighty slate of games. Even with almost half of the top 10 idle on Saturday, there are big traditional rivalries being contested this weekend, plus some key head-to-head matchups between undefeated teams and a few games worth monitoring for potential upsets.
Here’s my guide on games to watch — plus predictions for all six Big Ten matchups and the three biggest non-Big Ten games, both straight and against the spread.
