Michigan emerged from its non-conference finale with a similar margin of victory as its first two games of the season. It also escaped without any major new injuries. And the Wolverines have now made it through to the other side of an unorthodox start to the season that saw four different assistant coaches serve as interim head coaches over a three-game stretch.
But let’s be clear: Not all four-touchdown wins are built the same. And while I’m not ready to hit the panic button or make a bigger deal of Saturday night’s shakiness than is necessary, it’s also not my job to paint everything as optimistically as possible. Saturday was by far Michigan’s worst showing of the season, coming at a point of the schedule where the team should have the arrow pointing up and building on past weeks’ performances, not limping into the part of the season that really starts to matter.
Here’s a look at the good, the bad and the TBD from Michigan’s non-conference finale — a primetime win over Bowling Green.
