It may be a bye week for Michigan, but a good chunk of the rest of the college football world is still in action. So there’s no week off from my weekly Stock Watch and Power Ranking staples. And even though there isn’t a Michigan game to watch, it’s still a Saturday slate loaded with big games, and I’ll be producing a Michigan-less viewing guide full of breakdowns, predictions and games to watch.
On the prediction front, I’m riding a high coming off last weekend which may have been a bloodbath for highly ranked college football programs, but it was a Saturday slate full of big Ws for the newsletter. I went 10-1 on Week 6 picks, both straight and against the spread, and that’s vaulted me to an 87%+ season-long success rate on straight games and 57%+ against the spread.
Here’s an updated tally of the season-long standings.
2024 results
Michigan games
Straight: 6-0
Against the spread: 4-2
B1G games
Straight: 63-11
Against the spread: 39-34-1
Overall
Straight: 78-11
Against the spread: 50-37-2
After the paywall jump, we’ll get to the sixth and seventh installments, respectively, of the Big Ten Stock Watch and my Big Ten Power Rankings. Then we’ll tackle this weekend’s Michigan-less slate of college football action in a weekend that looks like it could be one of the most appealing slates of the entire fall.
Let’s dig in.
